"No matter who you purchase your coffee from, the nature of the coffee business is such that you can never be 100% certain of the quality of the bean from which it was roasted, notwithstanding what the seller asserts in that regard. Therefore, the exchange of value between you, the coffee consumer, and the coffee seller, is based on your trust that the coffee you consume is roasted from a bean that is of a quality commensurate with the price you paid for it, i.e., fair-trade, organic beans of a stated type and origin. Of course, taste is the best verification that the price paid for coffee is equal to it's quality. However, if a coffee consumer has never tasted the highest quality of coffee available, i.e., Sciscenti Coffee, in regard to both the bean and freshness, then they will not have a baseline from which they can make a sound taste verification. At Sciscenti Coffee, we could produce a $3.50 per pound coffee, and unless you have tasted our signature high quality coffee, in all probability you would not know that you were drinking a low grade coffee. We at Sciscenti Coffee could pass off to the uninformed consumer a lesser quality coffee for an inequitably high price or the cheapest coffee from the cheapest beans at a cheap price. But we do not do this. Sciscenti Coffee roasts only the best coffee available and our price is always commensurate with the quality of our product. Taste-verify our coffee and we are sure you will agree that it is the best! If you do not agree, we will refund your money in full and your purchase is on us."
